Good to know

A few things people usually ask.

Is it safe for kids?

Yes — we regularly host families. Just the normal bush-house sense applies: doors and windows closed when animals are about, and no wandering off alone at night.

Do you allow pets?

No pets are allowed anywhere in Marloth Park, under any circumstances — this is a park-wide rule, not just ours.

Is there a minimum stay?

Yes, a minimum of 3 nights.

Should we worry about malaria?

Marloth Park is in a low-risk malaria region. Most guests choose to chat to their doctor or travel clinic before the trip — we're not medical professionals, so we'd rather point you to the right people than guess.

What happens during load shedding?

The house has backup lighting and backup water, so an outage won't leave you completely in the dark — just without hot water or aircon until it's back.

Is there parking?

Yes, secure parking right at the house.

What's your payment and cancellation policy for direct bookings?

For bookings made directly with us, a 50% deposit is due at the time of your booking request and is non-refundable if you cancel. The remaining 50% is due the day before arrival. Bookings made through Airbnb follow Airbnb's own cancellation policy instead.

Can check-in or check-out times be adjusted?

Our usual check-in is 3pm and check-out is 9am, but both can sometimes be moved depending on other bookings and our cleaning schedule — just ask when you book.

Are towels provided?

Bath towels are provided. For the pool, please bring your own swimming towels.

Is the road to the house accessible by a normal car?

Yes — no 4x4 needed to reach the house itself.
